Fireproofing

Fireproofing is a process through which we give the characteristic of resisting to flames and transmitting heat in terms of hours or fractions of hours to a material or a group of materials.

The products used are hydraulic cement coating applied by vaporization or intumescent paints applied as an architectural finishing.

This complex process is mandatory, in accordance with the National Building Code on most steel structures and sometimes on concrete slabs. The applicators must respect scrupulously the U.L.C. norm (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada) regarding the various structure assemblage.
