Acoustical insulation

Sound insulation, also known as sound proofing, is a group of procedures that aim at diminishing outside noise or vibrations. The use of this type of insulation is common practice in office building, apartements, hotels, auditoriums, and many other commercial or industrial buildings.

Bulk material is used to fill in cavities such as walls and floors, in order to minimise the transmission of sound (for example a separaor wall between two condominiums or different units). When the material is vaporised on surfaces such as the roof of an auditorium, the sound absorption coefficient is much higher and the material can be used as the finishing touch.

This type of insulation is used frequently in places such as churches, forums, gymnasiums, auditoriums and many more.
