Arthur Laurin, a visionary who has recognised the importance of working in the insulation sector founded Isolation Algon in 1976. In those years, the activity field of the company is almost exclusively in the thermal insulation of buildings in the residential sector. These are two types of insulations used by the employees, which are the foam and injected insulation.

In 1982, Mr. Yves Poupart buys the company and brings a breath of fresh air with him by widening the range of services offered:

• 1986, acquisition of Isolation Y. Girard, which gives more weight to the enterprise regarding its human resources, its capital and its range of activities. Besides the residential sector, Algon is starting to work in the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as installing air and vapour barriers, and prepares its entry in the fireproofing sector. (It is at the end of the 80's that the company has come to use this process by which a building's metal structure is permeated with ininflammable substances.)
• 1991-1992, in order to continue its process of diversifying revenue sources and protect its other fields of activities, formation of team of specialists whose main task is to remove asbestos.
• 1993, acquisition of the equipment and workforce of an entrepreneur in pipe covering.
• 1996, hiring of about one hundred employees after an unequalled success since its creation. Decided more than ever in reaching new horizons and strengthening its skills, the company invests in the training ordered by various associations in the industry, such as, the Association de la construction du Québec (ACQ), the Association d'Isolation du Québec (AIQ) and the Canadian Urethane Foam Contractors Association (CUFCA).
• 2000, with the coming of a new millennium and a new presidency, Isolation Algon changes its name to Isolation Algon 2000. Maryse Poupart becomes president and the changeover confirms her position at the head of the enterprises in the insulation field.

Thanks to its skills, this enterprise is now one of the few insulation companies who offer such a complete range of services. Isolation Algon 2000 confirms its position as a leader in the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional construction sector and proves that it can evolve and prosper in fields related to thermal insulation.
